Low Cost Plasma Cutting Machine

Not meaning to design a machine to meet tolerance requirements that exceeded his application, James Babin knew how to build this plasma cutting machine at minimum cost, which (as we recall James to have told us) was under $2500, including materials, motors, drives and software (HPGL Controller and Indexer LPT). Built for his own use, James purchased all of the materials and components, less controls, from the McMaster Carr catalog. Notice the ball bearing followers and rack and pinion transport - a picture of innovation. Photo courtesy of James Babin.
