Flame Tourch Cutting Machine

For Mark Kleinsasser of Brentwood Shop, designing his own flame cutting machine around Indexer LPT/XQ and HPGL Controller was well worth it. Using a hand ignited torch, this machine makes quick work out of 1/4 to 2 1/4 inch thick steel, though the maximum material thickness is limited only by the type of torch head that is used. Mark uses AutoCAD to generate the tool paths, and the "last minute" editing features in HPGL Controller to quickly clean up torch direction and order. As the pictures show, smooth motion control really does make a difference in the quality of the finished parts, and the feed rate override allows precise adjustments while cutting. Although originally designed for Brentwood Shop, Mark can be convinced to make one of these machines for you too. Let us know if you are interested.
